Northam Elementary continues participation in the Reading is Fundamental Program. Each school year two different grade levels receive three brand new books as gifts from the RIF Program as an incentive to make reading a regular part of their lives.

For the first time since our Royal Readers Incentive Program began eight years ago, all grades levels not only met their goals, but also surpassed them by a large margin.

Northam provides an outstanding Parent Institute Program to support parents.

The M.I.N.D. Institute Program (Math and Music) is included for the first year as part of our third grade student curriculum.

Northam has a very strong PTA Board and Programs which support student learning. Our PTA once again had two huge fundraisers to provide fieldtrips for each classroom at Northam this year.

We have successfully completed our seventh year of our Positive Solutions Peer Helper Program, which has assisted students with strategies in handling conflict while out on the playground. Our Positive Solutions Peer Helper Program has incorporated the Rowland Unified School District Core Values and Community of Caring Values in resolving conflicts and instilling a sense of respect, care and responsibility on our school.

We have successfully completed our seventh year of our Literacy Enhancement Program in which more than 600 partially proficient students have been helped to increase their literacy skills and reach grade level standards in reading.

After-school Sports Programs which requires students to maintain a "C" average to participate. 

After-school tutorial classes support students who perform below proficient in math and reading.

Our after school first grade reading intervention program continues providing assistance to below proficient first grade students to achieve Grade Level Standards in the area of literacy.

Saturday School during the early spring has been implemented to provide additional support in reading, math and science.
