Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! I hope that you had a well-rested and enjoyable summer. I know just how hard all of our staff, students and families worked last year and I hope that this time off has served to help everyone rest and re-energize so that we are ready to begin the work for the new school year.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Northam families for their support during the 2016-17 school year. By everyone working together, we accomplished many initiatives and met our goals for the year. Teachers did a phenomenal job implementing rigorous instruction and providing students with the skills that will prepare them for future learning. Further, year after year, our school wide discipline continues to be excellent. This means that our students continue to make good choices as they learn and grow both academically and socially. I am extremely proud of all students and staff.

I am excited to announce that Northam is now an official College for Every Student (CFES) school.  CFES is a global program that helps guide students toward a college pathway. We are fortunate to have been accepted into the program and I am confident that this opportunity will provide our students with resources, knowledge, and support to find their personal pathway to college. I will provide you with more information at Back to School Night which will take place on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  I hope to see you there.

I am truly looking forward to begin my fifth year as your principal. Please know that I will continue to work diligently, with my dedicated and talented school team, to provide “all” students with a rigorous academic experience. Northam Elementary School will continue to be an educational institution that fosters a warm, innovative and dynamic learning environment with a rigorous curriculum.

Sincerely,

Dr. Celia Munguia
