Dear Parents/Guardians:

Welcome back to the 2013-2014 school year! I hope that you had a well-rested and enjoyable summer. My name is Celia Munguia and I am the new principal at Northam Elementary School. Many of you already know me because I have served as Northam’s  Learning Director for four years, the Program Specialist for two years and I was a Bilingual Kindergarten Teacher for three years. It was the many years of commitment and dedication to the work already invested with our students, teachers and community that inspired me to stay at Northam Elementary and continue our goal of providing that “World Class Education to All Our Students.”

I take great pride in the fact that throughout my years as an educator, I have been able to increase student learning by setting clear goals based on data, meticulous organizational skills, and high expectations for students, parents, and colleagues. As the new Principal of Northam Elementary, I will strive to positively impact and support student achievement in a matter that reflects the school’s vision. Because I believe in providing a first world-class education for all students, I care deeply about student success and achievement. As an educator and role model, I support the idea that the student, school and parent work in unison to create a community of learners and ensure the highest level of success.

Northam Elementary School will continue to be an educational institution that fosters a warm, innovative and dynamic learning environment with a rigorous curriculum. I am truly looking foward to working with a dedicated and talented school team, students and with our parent community as we begin the 2013-14 school year.

Sincerely,

Celia Munguia

Principal, Northam Elementary School
