RED RIBBON WEEK 2011 ACTIVITIES
Northam School
October 24 - October 28
Theme: “Drug Free: The California way to be!”
CLASSROOM BANNER PARTICIPATION
Banner Display Schedule:
6th./5TH grade – Tuesday, Oct. 25
4th/3rd grade - Wednesday, Oct. 26
1st/2nd grade - Thursday, Oct. 27
Headstart/Preschool & Kindergarten - Friday, Oct. 28
School Wide activities:
1. Monday, October 24 - Decoration Day.
Red ribbons all around school campus.
All students will receive a Red wristband with the logo:
“Drug Free: The California way to be!”
Community Pledge in the Hallway – Big poster board for all students to sign their drug-free commitment.
2. Tuesday, October 25 - Pledge Day (Student council will make announcement over the PA system.)
“Turn Your Back on Drugs” Day
Students will be invited to wear their clothes backwards.
3. Wednesday, October 26 - Wear RED Day
Students wear Red as a reminder to say No to Drugs.
* Parent Link – Parents have lunch with their kids Day –
Parents who attend will receive a Red Ribbon for attending
4. Thursday, October 27 - “You’re too bright to do drugs”
Students will be invited to wear bright colors and sunshades.
5. Friday, Oct. 28 -Teachers choose their own Say No to Drugs activities. Optional Writing : “What's Your Anti-Drug?" - Write essays, poems, and articles describing why or how you can be drug free.
